Polygon Studio's CEO On Why Big Brands Choose Them

Recently big brands like Meta, Starbucks, Reddit, Nike and Disney have either announced plans or are building on Polygon. Polygon Studios' CEO, Ryan Wyatt, explained why that is. Let's break down what he said.

  • There was a need to bring more people with traditional web and brand experience to pair with the highly technical Web3 savvy builders. This is what he worked to bring together in Polygon Studio's team, calling it their secret sauce.

  • They work to understand the prospective partner's Web3 vision, convince them that Polygon is the ideal platform to build the vision on then provide the support to bring it to life.

  • There is a growing consensus around Ethereum as the platform where most users and developers are firmly established.

Although they are having a mainstream adoption moment, he expects rival scaling solutions like Immutable X and Arbitrum to match the current Polygon Studio's advantage.

Our take

Clearly, they have consciously pursued the strategy of bringing big brands to their platform in the hopes of building network effects. This may prove to be worthwhile for them as they continue the push in gaming with their partnership with Magic Eden. The 3 million Polygon wallets created to claim Reddit's NFT avatar is 3 million fewer wallets gaming studios need to convince to create a new wallet.
