Unity Drops A New Category In Asset Store
And the moment we've all been waiting for...
Unity, the platform on which giants like Among Us and Pokemon Go were built on, just dropped a banger.

They are adding a new Decentralization category page in their Asset Store.
And it comes with vetted solutions to support developers interested in technology that enables decentralization in gaming.
Let's get to the fun part.
So far, they've dropped 13 verified solutions as SDKs, including tools that help devs manage digital assets (NFTs), set up smart contracts, build on blockchain networks, and more...
One more thing.
They are all FREE
What's in it

- AIKON ORE ID: A single sign-on platform for Blockchain account creation on first sign-in.
- Algorand SDK: Equips developers with tools for easily integrating digital assets and primitives into games using the Algorand blockchain.
- Altura: API and SDKs for creating, updating, and transferring NFTs in-game.
- Aptos Labs: SDK for building on Aptos blockchain.
- Dapper Labs: Flow SDK for Unity for integrating games and apps with Flow blockchain.
- Immutable X: Developer platform for building and scaling web3 games on Ethereum.
- Infura (ConsenSys): Infrastructure and tools for building and connecting to any EVM-compatible blockchain.
- Metamask (ConsenSys): SDK for connecting with MetaMask Wallet client for Unity-developed games.
- Nefta: SDK for seamless integration of digital assets, wallets, tokens, marketplaces, and more.
- Pocketful of Quarters: Quarters SDK, a plug-and-play monetization tool for creating social and interoperable games.
- Solana: SDK for integrating Solana-based NFTs, tokens, and programs within Unity games.
- Tezos: SDK for linking player accounts across games, minting and trading in-game items and currencies, and more.
- Truffle (ConsenSys): Comprehensive smart contract development framework for Ethereum.
Lootbringer take
Talk about a boon for web3 gaming.
Unity recognizes that the puck is slowly moving toward web3 ethos like true digital ownership and are now throwing some resources to support devs building with such ethos. And as more of these verified SDKs come out to make web3 gaming development easier, we will see more devs start to experiment.
The golden age of web3 gaming is just getting started.
Go check it out yourself.
Spotify Testing Web3 Feature
When you are dealing with FUD (fear, uncertainty, and doubt) about what you are building in web3, that's the time to pay attention to news like this...
Spotify is testing a new feature in collaboration with the metaverse band, Kingship.
And it's a move that is part of Spotify's effort to integrate with web3 and enhance the user experience.
We, KINGSHIP strive to ALWAYS be at the forefront of technology and music.
Now, we're taking this commitment a step further by launching a brand new token-enabled playlist with @Spotify!
This is a special curated playlist exclusively for KINGSHIP Key Card (NFT) holders. 🧵

Here are the key takeaways
- Spotify's collaboration with Kingship offers unlockable playlists exclusively for their NFT holders and token owners.
- The playlists will contain exclusive songs curated for this experience.
- Users with web3 wallets like Rainbow, Metamask, and Ledger Live can unlock the playlist through their NFTs.
- This feature is still being tested and is only available for Spotify's premium users. Sorry, you've gotta pay both sides to play.
Why this matters
- This feature adds more utility potential that devs and NFT creators can offer to their holders and community. We already see movies, anime, and game soundtracks being released onto streaming platforms, but now, they can be an exclusive offering to the biggest of fans - the holders.
- It is also another piece of the puzzle towards a future with anonymized and open social graphs that are not protected behind walled gardens of big tech. Access to such information would allow creators to better tailor the experience and products they provide to the interests of people.
The Sneakies
- Lotte Group goes global with NFT Business, partners with Polygon Blockchain for expansion
- Japan unleashes the Japan Metaverse Economic Zone, an agreement that focuses on building an open metaverse infrastructure called “Ryugukoku,” with the aim of sparking the next wave of metaverse development. Tech giants like Fujitsu and Mitsubishi among others have joined the agreement.
- Looks like NFTs are really Veblen goods, as survey shows 74% of respondents buy NFTs for status.
- NFT game, Worldwide Webb, completes Series A round of $10 million from Pantera.
