Most of the conversation around computing for web3 has been focused on mobile. The Saga phone and the Eth phone.
Now we have some news on the “forgotten one,” the desktop.
A company called Higgs Technology recently announced they are launching a web3 computer.
Here’s what we know
The computer is made specifically to run DApps with its own unique operating system called HUNIU OS.
HUNIU OS combines blockchain infrastructure and sandbox isolation technologies for a safe, convenient, scalable, and affordable environment for web3 DApps.
The computer supports the metaverse, NFTs, AI, smart contracts, and DApps, providing an integrated solution for various industries.
They claim you can jump into the world of web3 with just a single click and use a super secure, blockchain-based virtual machine for all kinds of cool things.
And the sale is starting May 1st on their website.

Don’t know if this computer will be any good, but it’s always good to see that people are exploring integrating web3 tech on a hardware level.

Consensys 2023 is done, and some would say it was full of optimism for web3.

Yuga Labs announced its move into web3 gaming and plans to bring more brand partnerships and value to the community.
Google Cloud is partnering with Polygon Labs to increase transaction throughput and enable use cases in gaming, supply chain management, and DeFi. Their initial tests showed promising results.
Some big brands like PepsiCo are chomping at the bit to leverage web3 tools and infrastructure but are being stymied by the lack of regulatory clarity, especially in the US.
Just like the disagreement between CFTC and the SEC on how crypto regulations should be handled, Ex-commissioner of CFTC Brian Quintenz and SEC lawyer Dan Berkovitz also disagreed on the approach to take. What they do agree on is regulation will continue to be by enforcement for a while longer. Ouch!
The Sneakies
Robinhood launched its 'Connect' feature to simplify web3 access by allowing wallet users to access credentials and fund Web3 wallets directly from DeFi apps. The feature is currently available on MyDoge, Giddy, and Slingshot wallets.
NFTs saw a 13% drop in sales in April though buyers grew by 4.3%.
